# ONEchain SRB

Learn how ONEchain staking rewards are calculated. ONESRB covers the fixed per-block reward schedule, the shared delegation pool, the flat 5% validator commission, and total staked ONE.

ONESRB is a benchmark representing the mean, annualized staking rate across all active ONEchain validators.

ONESRB is calculated and published by Staking Rewards via the [ONEchain Profile](https://www.stakingrewards.com/asset/onechain) and [Data API](https://www.stakingrewards.com/data-api).

> **TL;DR:** ONEchain pays a fixed reward every block out of a pre-allocated reward pool: 9.5129376 ONE per block in the first year of Proof of Staked Authority, halving every 31,536,000 blocks. All delegated ONE sits in one shared pool, so every staker earns the same rate whichever validator they pick. The reward rate equals the per-block reward times blocks per year divided by total staked ONE, and is inversely proportional to total staked tokens.

$$
ONESRB = rewardPerBlock \times blocksPerYear / totalStakedTokens
$$

<table data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th width="200">Formula key</th><th width="200">Metric name</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>rewardPerBlock</td><td>Block Reward</td><td>The fixed reward paid per block for the current reward tier, read from the <code>RewardHub</code> system contract (<code>0x0000000000000000000000000000000000001003</code>) via <code>getRewardInfo</code>. The tier schedule (<code>getRewardTable</code>) halves the reward every 31,536,000 blocks; tier 1 pays 9.5129376 ONE per block.</td></tr><tr><td>blocksPerYear</td><td>Blocks Per Year</td><td>The number of blocks produced per year, calculated as: <code>365 * 24 * 60 * 60 / blockTime</code>, where <code>blockTime</code> is the average block time measured from ONEchain block timestamps over the trailing 86,400 blocks (nominal 1 second).</td></tr><tr><td>totalStakedTokens</td><td>Total Staked Tokens</td><td>All ONE in the shared delegation pool, operator self-stake plus delegations, read from the <code>StakeHub</code> system contract (<code>0x0000000000000000000000000000000000001002</code>) via <code>getTotalStaked</code>.</td></tr></tbody></table>

* ONESRB is non-compounded and represents the staking rate before reinvesting rewards. Rewards accrue in the pool and can be restaked without an unbonding period, but that compounding is not part of the benchmark.
* Includes both claimed and unclaimed staking rewards.
* ONESRB is gross of the validator commission. ONEchain applies one flat protocol commission (5%) to every block reward before pooling the remainder to stakers; the validator-level rate below deducts it.
* Delegations are not attributed to individual validators. A delegator's rate does not depend on which validator they select.
* The reward rate is inversely proportional to total staked tokens: as more ONE is staked, the per-token reward decreases.
* Priority fees paid to block producers and the burned base fee are excluded; together they are well under 0.1% of block rewards.

#### Slashing

1. ONESRB does not factor in the possibility of slashing occurrences.
2. ONEchain slashes validators for downtime through the `ValidatorSlash` system contract. Once a validator's missed-block count reaches `offlineSlashThreshold`, its operator stake is reduced by `StakeHub.offlineSlashAmount` (10,000 ONE) and the validator is jailed for `offlineJailDuration` (48 hours). Delegated stake in the shared pool is not slashed.

### ONE Validator Staking Reward Rate: ONESRB(v)

Staking Rewards calculates the ONESRB for each validator by adjusting the asset-level reward rate for the protocol commission and the validator's uptime.

$$
ONESRB(v) = ONESRB \times (1 - commission) \times performance
$$

<table data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th width="150">Formula key</th><th width="200">Metric name</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>commission</td><td>Commission</td><td>The flat protocol commission on block rewards, sourced from <code>RewardHub.commissionRate</code> (basis points of 10,000; currently 500 = 5%). It is a network parameter and identical for every validator. Validators that are registered but outside the 21-seat council (candidates) do not produce blocks and are reported with a 0% rate.</td></tr><tr><td>performance</td><td>Performance</td><td>The validator's block-production uptime as reported by the ONEchain PoSA API (<code>uptime_bp</code>, basis points of 10,000), published only for council members.</td></tr></tbody></table>

***

#### Observation Period:

1. The ONESRB is determined based on the latest block data at the point of evaluation.
2. Block time is derived from the current average block production rate over the trailing 86,400 blocks.
3. This data is then annualized for a comprehensive year-long projection.

#### Calculation

The calculation happens every 2 hours and is immediately published via [Data API](https://www.stakingrewards.com/data-api).

#### Limitations

1. ONESRB employs a 365-day convention for annualizing block rewards. This convention remains consistent and does not accommodate adjustments for leap years.
2. The block reward steps down by half at each tier boundary (every 31,536,000 blocks, roughly yearly). The annualized rate therefore drops abruptly when a new tier starts rather than declining smoothly; the next boundary after launch is block 62,284,187.
3. Block time variability can affect the actual annualized reward. The calculation uses the current observed block time.
4. Because all delegations share one pool, the validator-level rate describes the pool rate net of the protocol commission, not a validator-specific yield.
5. Individual staker rewards are not guaranteed.

### ONE Real Reward Rate: ONESRB^R

The real reward rate calculates the ONESRB adjusted for inflation in the network.

$$
ONESRB^R = (1 + ONESRB) / (1 + ir) - 1
$$

<table data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th width="141">Formula key</th><th width="158">Metric name</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>ir</td><td>Inflation Rate</td><td>The annualized rate at which staking rewards enter circulation, computed as: <code>annualRewards / circulatingSupply</code>, where <code>annualRewards = rewardPerBlock * blocksPerYear</code> and <code>circulatingSupply</code> is sourced from CoinGecko market data.</td></tr></tbody></table>

#### Inflation Rate Behavior

ONE has a fixed total supply of 1 billion tokens with no new issuance. Staking rewards are paid from a pre-allocated reward pool, so they do not mint tokens but do move tokens from the reserve into circulation, diluting circulating holders. The pool releases 300 million ONE in the first year of Proof of Staked Authority and halves each year after, so the inflation rate falls by roughly half at every reward tier boundary and also declines as circulating supply grows.
