# Tron SRB

Learn how Tron staking rewards are calculated. TRXSRB covers Super Representative and candidate block rewards, block-time adjustment, staking ratio, validator commission, and fee-burn inflation.

TRXSRB is a benchmark representing the mean, annualized staking rate across all active Tron validators.

TRXSRB is calculated and published by Staking Rewards via the [Tron Profile](https://www.stakingrewards.com/asset/tron) and [Data API](https://www.stakingrewards.com/data-api).

> **TL;DR:** Tron staking rewards come from the per-block rewards paid to the 27 Super Representatives and the vote reward shared by the top 127 witnesses by votes (the 27 SRs plus up to 100 SR Partners). Annualizing those rewards from the current block time and dividing by the staked (voted) supply gives the network staking rate.

$$
TRXSRB = (365 \* 86400 / bt) \* (cbr + sbr) / (ts \* sr)
$$

<table data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th width="141">Formula key</th><th width="158">Metric name</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>bt</td><td>Block Time</td><td>The 30-day average block time in seconds. <code>365 * 86400 / bt</code> is the number of blocks produced per year.</td></tr><tr><td>cbr</td><td>Candidate Block Reward</td><td>TRX paid per block to the top 127 witnesses by votes (27 SRs plus up to 100 SR Partners), shared in proportion to votes; witnesses ranked below 127 receive none. Sourced from the on-chain chain parameter <code>getWitness127PayPerBlock</code> (in SUN, divided by 10^6).</td></tr><tr><td>sbr</td><td>SR Block Reward</td><td>TRX paid per block to the 27 active Super Representatives. Sourced from the on-chain chain parameter <code>getWitnessPayPerBlock</code> (in SUN, divided by 10^6).</td></tr><tr><td>ts</td><td>Total Supply</td><td>All TRX minted minus all TRX burnt.</td></tr><tr><td>sr</td><td>Staking Ratio</td><td>Staked (voted) tokens divided by total supply.</td></tr></tbody></table>

`365 * 86400 / bt` is the annual block count. Multiplying by `(cbr + sbr)` gives the total TRX distributed to block producers per year; dividing by the staked supply (`ts * sr`) expresses it as a per-token staking rate.

#### Slashing

1. TRXSRB does not factor in the possibility of slashing occurrences.
2. Tron does not implement token slashing; misbehaving Super Representatives simply lose block-production rewards while inactive.

### TRX Validator Staking Reward Rate: TRXSRB(v)

Staking Rewards calculates the TRXSRB for each Super Representative and candidate based on the rewards they earn from block production, adjusted for their commission.

$$
TRXSRB(v) = (1 - c) \* (srR + cR) / b
$$

<table data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th width="150">Formula key</th><th width="187">Metric name</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>srR</td><td>SR Reward</td><td>Annual SR block reward: <code>(365 * 86400 / bt) * (sbr / 27)</code>. Only the 27 active Super Representatives receive this; they split the SR block reward equally.</td></tr><tr><td>cR</td><td>Candidate Reward</td><td>Annual candidate block reward: <code>(365 * 86400 / bt) * (cbr * vp / 100)</code>, where <code>vp</code> is the validator's share of total votes. Only the top 127 witnesses by votes (the 27 Super Representatives plus up to 100 SR Partners) receive this reward; every other candidate has <code>cR = 0</code>.</td></tr><tr><td>c</td><td>Commission</td><td>The brokerage rate a Super Representative keeps before distributing rewards to voters.</td></tr><tr><td>b</td><td>Staked Tokens</td><td>The total votes (staked TRX) delegated to the validator.</td></tr></tbody></table>

> **Note:** SR Partners (ranks 28-127 by votes) earn candidate rewards (`cR`) proportional to their votes but no SR reward (`srR = 0`) until they enter the active 27. Candidates ranked below 127 are not paid the vote reward by the protocol, so both `cR` and `srR` are 0 and their TRXSRB(v) is 0.

#### Observation Period:

1. The TRXSRB is determined based on the latest generated block at the point of evaluation.
2. This data is then annualized for a comprehensive year-long projection.

#### Calculation

The calculation happens every 2 hours and is immediately published via [Data API](https://www.stakingrewards.com/data-api).

#### Limitations

1. TRXSRB employs a 365-day convention for annualizing block rewards. This convention remains consistent and does not accommodate adjustments for leap years.
2. TRXSRB is based on the current per-block rewards and block time; it does not project future governance changes to those parameters.
3. TRXSRB does not guarantee the reward rate of any individual Super Representative.

### TRX Real Reward Rate: TRXSRB^R

The real reward rate calculates the TRXSRB adjusted for inflation in the network.

$$
TRXSRB^R = (1 + TRXSRB) / (1 + ir) - 1
$$

<table data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th width="141">Formula key</th><th width="158">Metric name</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>ir</td><td>Inflation Rate</td><td>The annualized net issuance, computed as <code>365 * (86400 / bt * (cbr + sbr) - df) / cs</code>, where <code>df</code> is the 30-day average of daily transaction fees (which are burned) and <code>cs</code> is circulating supply.</td></tr></tbody></table>

#### Inflation Rate Behavior

Tron issues new TRX as per-block rewards to Super Representatives and candidates, while burning the TRX collected as transaction fees. Net inflation is therefore the annual block rewards minus the annual burned fees, divided by circulating supply. When burned fees exceed new issuance, the net inflation rate is negative and TRX is deflationary — which raises the real reward rate above the nominal rate.

Under Stake 2.0 there is none, so this is 0 seconds.</td></tr><tr><td>Unstaking Time</td><td>The wait after requesting an unstake before TRX can be withdrawn. Read live on every calculation from the <code>getUnfreezeDelayDays</code> chain parameter (14 days as of October 2026) and converted to seconds. Omitted for a run if the read fails.</td></tr></tbody></table>
