cheqd Staking Rewards Benchmark (CHEQSRB™) Methodology

CHEQSRB is a benchmark representing the mean, annualized staking rate across all active cheqd validators.

CHEQSRB is calculated and published by Staking Rewards via the cheqd Profile and Staking Data API.

The calculations are derived from the ATOMSRB documentation, serving as the foundational reference to ensure the accuracy of relevant metrics.

Staking Rewards calculates the CHEQSRB for each validator based on their individual performance and commission rate.

The real reward rate calculates the CHEQSRB adjusted for inflation in the network.

Inflation Rate Behavior

  • cheqd inflation introduces block rewards which are independent of transaction and hence gas fees. By modelling rewards against transaction volume and using a number of reference points cheqd established that inflation_max should be <4% to achieve any meaningful incentives through transaction volumes. The all-time low transaction volumes are used to identify inflation_min as 1% to maintain sufficient rewards at low volumes.

The number of tokens delegated to validators.

Self Staked Tokens

The number of tokens staked by validators directly.

Staking Wallets

This metric refers to the total quantity of distinct delegations made. It doesn't distinguish based on unique delegator addresses and excludes considerations of any minimum delegation thresholds.
